The Wedge Panel® offers a solution for those undesirable reflections which corrupt the stereo
imaging at the listening sweet spot, achieves broad band low frequency absorption and
provides high frequency diffusion for a much clear audio listening room.
Sound reflections are generated from a critical listening room’s boundary. They interfere with
the direct sound producing the known comb filtering effect, a diffuse spatial location of sound
sources plus a blurred stereo image for the listener.
The Wedge Panel® is installed as a splayed module. It incorporates a variable depth air cavity,
which improves low frequency response, increases the angle of incidence thus deflecting
impinging sound waves and diffuses high frequencies in the vertical plane.
We developed the Wedge Panel® in order to extend the low frequency absorption efficiency of
conventional flat absorptive panels and quadratic diffusers.
The Wedge Panel® is made of wood. Standard finishes are: light wood or dark wood (light
wood exterior box and dark wood moldings). Please contact MBR Design Group for special
color matching.
The Wedge Panel® standard dimensions are: 2'-0" (0.61m) wide by 4'-0" (1.22m) high.
The Wedge Panel® installation can be implemented to any wall via customized "J" Type clips.
(Two pairs of clips per unit are supplied.) A real panel size template with pre-drilled holes is
also provided in order to accommodate mounting hardware locations. Please refer to
schematic for mounting details.
